Punta Gorda man wins $1M on scratch-off ticket

A 26-year-old Punta Gorda man won $1 million playing a scratch-off game.

Florida Lottery officials said Wednesday that Harsh Patel bought his winning “THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000” ticket at the R&L Market in Port Charlotte.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $30 game launched in February and has 155 top prizes of $1 million.
