Credit: WINK News. Fort Myers Police Department responded to a crash with a vehicle versus a pedestrian with serious injuries in Fort Myers Tuesday night. Police were at the scene of a crash at the intersection with US-41 and North Airport Road just north of Page Field. According to FMPD, two pedestrians were crossing the road (not a crosswalk) when a car was driving toward them. The car avoided one of the people but hit the other. The person hit was taken to the hospital to treat serious injuries. Two northbound lanes of US-41 were shut down due to the crash but not causing a traffic delay. Drivers are advised to use caution. Police want to remind all pedestrians to use crosswalks in public to cross roadways.
