Saturday’s Coronavirus Updates: 4,471 new cases, 77 new deaths reported in the state

As of 11 a.m. Saturday, there have been 776,251 positive cases of the coronavirus recorded in the state. The case count includes 766,305 Florida residents and 9,946 non-Florida residents. There are 16,417 Florida resident deaths reported, 203 non-resident deaths, and 48,127 hospitalizations at some point during illness, according to the Florida Department of Health.

*Numbers are released by the DOH daily at approximately 11 a.m. but are occasionally delayed.

STATEWIDE NUMBERS

Total number of recorded cases: 776,251 (up from 771,780)
Florida resident deaths: 16,417 (up from 16,340)
Non-resident deaths: 203 (down from 204)
Total deaths in state (Fla./non-Fla. residents combined): 16,620 (up from 16,544)

  • 4,471 total new cases reported Saturday
  • 77 new resident deaths reported Saturday
  • 0 new non-resident deaths reported Saturday
  • Percent positive for new cases in FL residents: 3.68%
    • This percent is the number of people who test PCR- or antigen-positive for the first time divided by all the people tested that day, excluding people who have previously tested positive. 

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA NUMBERS

Total recorded cases in SWFL: 44,563 (up from 44,287)
Deaths: 994 (up from 991)

  • 276 total new cases reported Saturday
  • 3 new deaths reported Saturday

Lee County: 22,619 (up from 22,480) – 506 deaths (1 new)
Collier County: 14,025 (up from 13,927) – 253 deaths (2 new)
Charlotte County: 3,487 (up from 3,463) – 157 deaths
DeSoto County: 1,651 (up from 1,644) – 29 deaths
Glades County: 593 (no change) – 6 deaths
Hendry County: 2,188 (up from 2,180) – 43 deaths

TESTING NUMBERS

Total tested (residents): 5,922,634
Total tested (non-residents): 22,738
Total positive (residents): 766,305
Total positive (non-residents): 9,946
Total negative (residents): 5,149,066
Total negative (non-residents): 12,744

The remainder of the tests is still pending or inconclusive, according to the FDOH website.
