A Cape Coral woman was arrested Friday, accused of spending her employer’s money on personal expenses.

Stacy Hammerberg, 38, was a bookkeeper for the law firm of Dixie Lee Ball PA, a job she held since Sept. 1, 2017, police said. In that time, Hammerberg used the law firm’s funds for personal gain, making purchases at grocery stores, Comcast/Xfinity, hotels, to buy concert tickets, for veterinary bills, for school expenses, for online purchases, at restaurants, for food delivery and other personal expenses, a total of $20,714.59, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

Hammerberg faces charges of fraud, larceny, and counterfeit of a public record. She was released from the Lee County Jail several hours after her arrest.
