CollierCARES applications reopen

Nonprofits, health and public safety agencies financially affected by COVID-19 are getting a second chance to apply for CollierCARES, Collier County’s program to disburse the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act federal stimulus package. Program information, updates and application portals are available online at CollierFLCares.com.

The new application dates are from 8 a.m. Monday through noon Oct. 26.

Also included in this application opportunity are 501(c)(19) veterans organizations and childcare providers that fall under 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

If anyone from the aforementioned list has received CollierCARES funds, but wishes to revise their application, they should reach out to their grant coordinator.

Relief funding must be used on incurred expenses related to COVID-19 between March 1 and Dec. 30, 2020. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Medical Expenses – Emergency medical response expenses
  • Public Health – Communication and enforcement, medical and protective supplies, and disinfection
  • Payroll Expenses for Public Safety and Public Health Services – Employees whose job duties are substantially committed to the COVID-19 response
  • Actions to Facilitate Compliance with Public Health Measures – Sanitation measures, food stability and unforeseen teleworking costs
