Man sought for homicide in New York has ties to Fort Myers

A man with ties to Fort Myers is being sought in a New York homicide that happened in July.

The Nassau County Police Department says Yonel Pitaud, 50, of Uniondale, N.Y., shot a 73-year-old man inside a home on the evening of July 24. The victim later died.

The NCPD said Pitaud has ties to Fort Myers and Miami, as well as Smyrna, Tennessee; Hampton and McDonough, Georgia; and Haiti.

Detectives with the NCPD request anyone with information on Pitaud’s whereabouts call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.
