The Collier County School Board will discuss three new measures Tuesday to stop COVID-19 from spreading.

These include:

  • A hand-sanitizing system on buses.
  • Water bottle filling stations.
  • Increased playground cleaning.

All this is to address high-contact surfaces students may encounter every day.

The board will vote to restock the hand sanitizer for the dispensers installed on every school bus. The estimated cost is $50,000.

The school district is looking to replace 270 water fountains with no-contact water bottle filling stations. That’s expected to cost $270,000.

And, to comply with CDC recommendations, Collier County Schools wants to clean all 76 playgrounds daily, in the mornings before students enjoy recess.

All of the measures require approval before they are acted upon by the schools.
