As we move closer to Election Day, time is running out for you to make sure your voice and vote will be counted.

Being registered to vote is the only way to officially give your input on who you want to lead our country.

The deadline to register to vote ends Monday at 11:59 p.m. The fastest and easiest way to register is online.

Start by going to the Supervisor of Elections website in your county.

Click on “Register to Vote.” Then you’ll find a series of questions.

You must have a Florida driver’s license or a Florida ID plus a social security number to register online. If not, you can still register but you must do so in person. You can call the Supervisor of Elections where you live for more information.

We all want our vote to matter, so election officials are doing everything they can to make us feel confident our vote will count.

A record number of people have requested a mail-in ballot, which you can then drop off at your Supervisor of Elections office or mail the ballot back in.

“We know that it’s the most convenient way to cast a ballot in elections. But on top of that, we know that we have voters who enjoy voting in person and we want voters to not have an excuse not to have a vote in this election. So, whether it’s coronavirus you know we see it’s a moving target,” explained Collier County Supervisor of Elections public relations officer, Trish Robertson.

“All of our early voting sites will have drop-offs for vote by mail. Most of our drop-off sites, like the early voting sites, will be like a drive-up type, drop off or we will have a deputy, not a Lee County deputy, but one of our election deputies, take your ballot,” said Lee County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle.

In Lee County, you can drop off your ballot without even leaving your car. Starting Monday, there are currently three drive-thru locations:

  • Cape Coral Elections office at 1039 SE 9th Ave.
  • Bonita Springs Commons locations at 25987 S. Tamiami Trail.
  • Downtown Fort Myers at 2480 Thompson St.

You can also drop your ballot off at the Lee County Elections Center at 13180 S Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers.
