After more than three months, a suspect is behind bars for the shooting death of an 18-year-old Lehigh Acres man.

The shooting took place on the night of June 20. Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies say they found a man with a gunshot wound.

Sheriff Marceno was not able to give us the victim’s name.

Jameslee Senatus, 19, was arrested in Miami on Tuesday for the June 20 shooting. The bullets used were what helped identify him. Those bullets aren’t sold in Lee County, according to Marceno.

Detectives traced those bullets back to where they were sold. Then, they were able to match bullets found at the scene to those present in the suspect’s home.

According to Marceno, during a press conference Wednesday, the suspect, known as “Demon,” was arrested on the charge of second-degree murder. Senatus is currently in jail in Miami and will soon be sent back to Lee County.

Marceno is upset that a life was taken but hope some closure can be brought through this arrest. “We can’t bring that family member back but the only thing we can do is get a family closure. And how do we do that? By putting the demon behind bars,” said Sheriff Marceno.
