New area of interest to monitor; another cold front coming

Published: Updated:

A broad area of low pressure could form over the western Caribbean Sea over the next few days. Since this disturbance hasn’t formed yet, there is significant model discrepancy on not only where it could go, but how strong it could be. Typically, we get better model data once a disturbance is better organized, because the atmosphere around the system is able to be more properly tested.

Slow development is possible later this week as the system moves slowly west-northwestward over the northwestern Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 50% of development over the next 5 days.

As far as our weather looks, scattered storms will continue for the rest of the afternoon, but fizzle out with a loss of daytime heating later in the evening. Expect a warm & humid evening with temperatures falling from the 80s into the 70s!

A front will move through our region by midweek. Not only will this bring drier air to us, but we’ll also have multiple mornings in a row with lows in the upper 60s. Enjoy!
