A 65-year-old Port Charlotte motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a crash that left two others injured in Englewood East.

The Florida Highway Patrol said it happened shortly before 3 p.m. when a sedan made a right turn onto Oceanspray from McCall and into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist and his passenger, a 29-year-old Port Charlotte woman, were thrown from the motorcycle. Neither was wearing a helmet. The passenger was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, troopers said.

The driver of the sedan, a 52-year-old Rotonda West man, was transported with serious injuries. The FHP has not said whether he will be cited in the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims, citing Marsy’s Law.
