New giraffe born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Walt Disney World) Walt Disney World Resort’s Animal Kingdom got a very special delivery on Friday — a new member of the family! A giraffe that lives on the park’s reserve, named Mara, gave birth to a baby girl! The female giraffe is just over six feet tall and weighs 156 pounds. While she has yet to be given a name, park officials say she is healthy, strong and even a little feisty. She is the 35th giraffe to be born at the park, Disney says. Mother and baby will be on the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna soon for everyone to visit.
