Higher rain chances heading into the last weekend of September

Published: Updated:

Deep, tropical moisture is slowly creeping back into our local forecast today and into the weekend. This large plume of moisture will allow for more humidity and more widespread storm activity.

This afternoon and evening, stay weather aware as some storms may produce heavy rain, localized flooding, and frequent lightning. The best potential for storms is along and east of I-75. Storm movement this evening will be from the west to east.

We will see improving conditions later tonight after the sunsets, as showers and storms dissipate. Conditions will be mainly clear to partly cloudy overnight.

Expect a similar forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Right now, Sunday looks to be our wetter day.

In the tropics, all remains quiet! You can trust the Weather Authority to bring you any updates and changes.
