Collier County Sheriff’s deputies seized 10.9 grams of heroin and 10.8 grams of suspected amphetamines during a drug trafficking arrest Thursday.

Robert Steven Josephs, 42, of 50th Terrace Southwest, is facing charges of trafficking heroin, possession of amphetamines and driving with a suspended license.

Deputies spotted Josephs getting into a Buick SUV at a gas station along Collier Boulevard Thursday night and recognized him from previous encounters. Josephs is a convicted felon currently out on bond for heroin possession. Deputies also knew that his license was suspended.

Josephs was pulled over for driving with a suspended license. When deputies arrested Josephs, they found narcotics on his person during a search: multiple baggies in Josephs’ cargo shorts containing both black tar heroin and brown heroin. They also found methamphetamine rocks.

Josephs was taken into custody and his rental car was towed.
