Scattered storms return to Southwest Florida

Published: Updated:

Scattered showers and storms return to Southwest Florida today. The majority of our rainfall will occur in the afternoon and evening, with a few pockets of heavy rain possible.

We will likely dry out after sunset this evening. Expect mainly clear to partly cloudy and dry conditions overnight and into early Friday morning.

Thursday is a transitional day for us, with deeper tropical moisture returning Friday and into the weekend. This large plume of moisture will allow for more humidity and more widespread storm activity.

For the first time since early August, there is no tropical activity expected in the Atlantic Basin over the next 5 days!

While no activity is expected in the near-term, it’s important to remember that historically October is a busy month for storms in Florida. Don’t let your guard down and as always, trust the Weather Authority for local updates!
