Deputies are seeking the identity of a man they say called in a threat to blow up the Lee County courthouse on Aug. 28.

The call came into the main call center line and the person threatened it would happen in one hour and immediately hung up.

Approximately three minutes later, a call was received by the federal courthouse, which is located just across the street. The caller made a similar threat and hung up.

Investigators say the suspect purchased a phone at a Collier County Walmart and later discarded it after making the calls.

This person is suspected of placing the calls, but his identity is currently unknown.

He may live in or frequent the Lehigh Acres area. Anyone who can identify him is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com.

FDLE is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the subject and Crime Stoppers is also offering a cash reward.
