A LaBelle man was killed in a crash early Monday on SR-80 in the Olga area of east Lee County. The Florida Highway Patrol said the man was driving a sedan and lost control on the wet road, eventually colliding with an oncoming pickup near Pine Avenue. The 33-year-old driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital and later died. The pickup’s driver, a 47-year-old Fort Myers man, was not injured. The crash happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims, citing Marsy’s Law.
