Fort Myers police are investigating an early Friday shooting on Highland Circle near Canal Street. (Credit: Google Street View) Fort Myers police say one person was injured in a shooting early Friday. It happened just after 6 a.m. on Highland Circle near Canal Street. Police said the victim was shot “in an extremity” and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. That person’s condition was unavailable. The FMPD is looking for a small, dark-colored crossover SUV. Anyone with information should call FMPD at (239) 321-7700 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477). Fort Myers Police are on scene in the area of Highland Circle and Canal Street in reference a shooting. We as you to avoid this area while we continue our investigation.
