Arcadia man killed in crash with semi-truck on I-75 in Charlotte County

An Arcadia man was killed Wednesday evening in a crash on I-75 in Charlotte County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash involved an SUV and a semi-truck on northbound I-75 near mile marker 160, south of Jones Loop Road. Troopers said the driver of the SUV changed lanes and drove into the semi, traveled off the road and ended up in a water-filled ditch.

The 46-year-old driver of the SUV died at the hospital.

The crash, which was reported shortly before 7 p.m., remains under investigation.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims, citing Marsy’s Law.
