An Everglades City man was arrested Tuesday on multiple child pornography charges.

Detectives from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested Justin Stalter at his home on Storter Avenue. The charges he faces include 20 counts of child pornography possession, one count of child pornography possession with intent to promote and one count of child pornography transmission.

The case originated when the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children forwarded a cyber tip regarding the uploading of child pornography to a Dropbox account. The tip stated that the suspect account uploading multiple files containing child pornography had a screen/user name of “Justin S” and an email address that contained the word “jstalter”.

CCSO detectives reviewed the files and found that all of them contained videos depicting children, appearing to range in age from 5 to 15, engaged in sexual acts with other children and with adults.

Detectives received additional cyber tips during their investigation which seemed to further incriminate Stalter. Files containing child pornography were uploaded into various Dropbox and Google accounts, with all IP addresses coming back to Stalter’s address and accounts in his name.

When Stalter’s residence was searched, detectives examined his digital devices and found additional child pornography on a laptop computer.

Stalter was transported to the Collier County Jail and booked. The investigation continues.
