Fort Myers man convicted on federal drug charges

A Fort Myers man was convicted in federal court of cocaine trafficking.

Edgar Vazquez, 35, faces a minimum mandatory term of five years and up to 40 years in federal prison.

Lee County sheriff’s deputies and special agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration seized more than one kilogram of cocaine, cash, and a loaded firearm from Vazquez’s residence and his vehicle on Sept. 18, 2018.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
