Fort Myers Police Department responded to a shooting at Sunrise Towers apartments off Central Avenue in Fort Myers Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. (Credit: WINK News) Fort Myers responded to a shooting at Sunrise Towers apartments Monday night. According to Fort Myers Police Department, police were called to the 2800 block of Central Avenue and found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Fort Myers Police Department is on scene of an isolated shooting investigation in the 2800 block of Central Avenue. We ask that you avoid the area while we conduct this investigation.
