We looked at the possibilities that season could return to parts of Southwest Florida sooner than later, with the steady stream of customers businesses being seen.

With season right around the corner and the pandemic still underway, some think Naples won’t be as busy during the holidays as usual. Others say the snowbirds will still come down for the warmth.

“This isn’t like a big city, so I would definitely assume there will be less traffic,” said Joshua Walsh, who was visiting from Texas.

“I don’t think it will be too busy,” said Eddie Nieves, who was visiting from Hallandale. “People are scared.”

The owner of the Inn on Fifth said right now they don’t have many bookings for the hotel.

“Typically right now, we would have Christmas week 50% booked right now,” Phil McCabe said. “We have zero.”

He still thinks snowbirds will come back for the winter, which will be good for restaurants and businesses.

“Without a doubt, the snowbirds will be here,” McCabe said. “I’m more hopeful for the restaurants and the season than I am for the hotels.”
