Immokalee welcome sign (WINK News) The United Arts Council is asking residents of Immokalee to help them choose a new welcome sign. The community was less than excited about the new sign that was unveiled back in June. “There was no culture in that sign, and I say that respectfully and sincerely,” said Isrrael Pena Jr. Pena and others in the community said the new sign doesn’t really represent Immokalee and what it’s all about. Now, the United Arts Council is looking to change that. They’ve released a survey asking the survey-taker about their residency in Immokalee and offering a choice of three new sign options. The new choices are much more artfully designed and offer a nod to the culture of the community, which residents say the original sign lacked. If you’d like to take the survey, click here.
