Restaurants and water tours are your best bet. If you’re looking for a staycation in a hotel, hold off. Here are a few of the best deals in Southwest Florida, according to the convention and visitor bureau pages for our area: Lee County: Charley’s Boat House is offering buy one, get one (BOGO) entrees for dine-in or carryout. Fort Myers Fishing Charters is offering $50 off a charter. Kids eat free at Buffalo Wings and Rings in Fort Myers on Monday. Collier County: 18 or under ride free at Wooten’s Airboat Tour. You have to buy one adult ticket to get the deal. Everglades Tours is offering 30% off a tour, saying it’s the biggest discount they’ve ever offered. Pure Florida is offering a $25 sightseeing cruise on weekdays, including Labor Day. Sails Restaurant on Fifth is serving a three-course meal for only $39. Jack Wert, executive director of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitor Bureau said they expect a busy weekend. We asked him when the best time is for locals to get cheap hotel rates. “The subsequent weekends in September are traditionally a much slower time of year,” he said. “I think there definitely will be some opportunities to find some good prices on hotels.” If you can swing weekdays, that’s the best time. For perspective, right now on the weekends, hotels are typically 60% full in Collier County. On the weekends, it’s 30%, so they’ll work with you to get you in the door.
