SWFL Crime Stoppers to distribute signs to aid in search for missing Cape Coral woman, Lauren Dumolo. (SWFL Crime Stoppers) Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said Wednesday that they will be distributing lawn signs to aid in the search for missing Cape Coral woman, Lauren Dumolo. They wanted to get all 125 signs out into high visibility areas in hopes that someone will have information on Dumolo’s whereabouts. People have pledged to help in the search of Lauren Dumolo by putting out the yard signs with her picture on them. “Would you mind if we put some signs out?” volunteers say after knocking. “That’s fine. You can do that.” None of these people have ever met Lauren or her family, yet they feel connected to her and her story. “I think it was because it was so close to home, you know?” said Christine Pitko, one of the volunteers. “I mean Four Freedoms… I used to bring my kids there several times a week when they were little.” Dumolo has been missing for more than two months and her father is trying to prepare himself for the worst news possible. “I prepare myself, I should say, for the worst and I hope for the best. And that’s a hard thing for a parent to say because it’s my daughter,” he said through tears. “You know, that’s terrible.” Her father believes someone out there knows something so he’s glad the signs went up. “Somebody has to know something about this. You know, my daughter didn’t just vanish,” he said. Lauren Dumolo, 29 is considered missing and endangered. Credit: via CCPD. Several volunteers, as well as Dumolo’s father, put the signs out on Thursday. The signs were given out at 5:30 p.m. on Miromar Street near where Lauren lived near the Cape Coral laundromat. “Obviously, she has a lot of people that care about her,” said Kevin Kraft of Cape Coral. “And you know, so it’s the least I could do is to let them put up a sign out there. And I’ve been praying that they find her.” Everyone is Cape Coral is doing what they can to make sure Lauren isn’t forgotten and comes home safe. “I’m praying for her. We appreciate that. Thank you so much. Thanks a lot.” It’s been 76 days since Dumolo was last seen on June 19. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $8,000 in reward money for information. If you know anything about Dumolo’s whereabouts, please call Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS.
