Convicted felon facing charges after loaded gun, drugs found on him during traffic stop
A Cape Coral man was arrested after a West District Deputy found him with a loaded gun, drugs and cash during a traffic stop, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Lawrence Louis Puca, a 32-year-old convicted felon, left his truck suspiciously parked in a high crime area of Pine Manor, deputies say. A firearm was lodged between seat cushions.
Deputies were patrolling that area because of a recent carjacking. Shortly after driving from the location, the deputy conducted a traffic stop and noticed Puca was nervous.
After a search of his truck, the deputy seized the firearm, $4,641 in cash, 42 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Puca now faces several felony charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and trafficking in methamphetamine.
