Two positive cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed by Oasis Charter Schools in Cape Coral Tuesday.

Oasis Middle School in Cape Coral said a student tested positive for the coronavirus, and Oasis Elementary North says it has a positive case confirmed but has not shared if it’s a student, teacher, or staff member.

The charter school authority told WINK News a COVID-19 response team is working quickly to get in touch with families who came into contact with the individual who was confirmed positive at the elementary school. Anyone in close contact with him or her will go into quarantine for 14 days.

In an email to parents, Oasis Middle said contact tracing is underway to find anyone who might have had direct exposure to the student.

According to the school’s email statement, “Anyone who had direct exposure to the confirmed case will be contacted and sent home to quarantine for 14 days from the date of known exposure.”

Oasis Middle confirmed the student is also isolated away from the school.
