Twin Cutz offered free haircuts Sunday before kids headed back to school. The goal was also to collect school supplies for kids who need it most.

Sarah Seaton said she couldn’t pass up the opportunity for her son to get a free haircut before he heads back to school.

“I’m excited and the haircuts are free today,” she said.

Twin Cutz has been helping parents get their kids looking great for the first day of school for ten years now.

“Some people this is the only time they can actually get a haircut,” says Twin Cutz owner Sean Casey.

But this year, because of the coronavirus pandemic and its impacts, more children are in need of something as simple as a haircut.

“This year being COVID and being a little more difficult for families to get adjusted to going back to school we’re trying to say thank you to the community for supporting us,” Casey said.

Casey just wants to help people. People like Sarah who haven’t had a regular income in months because of the pandemic.

“Haven’t worked in quite a wild, so it’s good,” Seaton said.

Not only did kids get free haircuts but they’ll also be getting school supplies. About 1,000 kids received the free haircuts and another 200 will benefit from the donated school supplies. The supplies will be handed out later this week.

Twin Cutz barbers and owner Sean Casey just want the community to know that they have their back, despite their own hardships during the pandemic.

“Giving back to the kids you know there’s a lot of unfortunate families out there, so it just makes me smile,” said barber Quinnell Sturgis.

The excitement with which they give back is not going unnoticed by customers.

“I really appreciate him for doing this and for cutting other people’s hair today for free,” said Paul Gorenyuk, who received a free haircut today.

“It’s been really exciting, especially in coronavirus where people aren’t working for free haircut, free supplies it’s great,” Seaton added.
