Credit WINK News. A 52-year-old Punta Gorda man is critically injured after a hit-and-run in Charlotte County Friday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol. An unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Taylor Road near Creekbridge Drive. The man was standing within the grass shoulder of Taylor Rd. when he was hit by a portion of the vehicle around 9:18 p.m. The man came to final rest in the west grass shoulder and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The vehicle fled the scene, but is believed to be a 2003-2005 GMC C5500 pickup truck of unknown color.
