FGCU confirms a student and an athletics employee both on campus Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19. This brings FGCU’s total to four cases reported in August since students and faculty have started returning to campus for the fall semester.

The student positive for coronavirus lives on campus at the North Lake Village housing area. The student has been instructed to go into self-isolation and follow CDC guidelines.

The athletics employee has also been instructed to go into self-isolation and follow CDC guidelines.

Prior to these cases, another student and WGCU faculty member both tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

The university reminds everyone to complete the “FGCU Daily Health Screening App” every day before setting foot on campus and follow the guidance provided.

There is no further from the university at this time.
