Death investigation in Port Charlotte. A death investigation is underway in Port Charlotte after a man’s body was found in a canal. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found in a canal near Bayfront Health around 10:30 a.m. Investigators say at this point the death does not appear to be suspicious.
