Credit: Shared with WINK News. Punta Gorda Police Department and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Punta Gorda, where a person barricaded themselves inside Tuesday night. The man inside then tried to escape but law enforcement took him into custody. According to CCSO, deputies and police officers responded to a home in the 7300 block of Satsuma Drive. The call was originally received by dispatch around 4:30 p.m. It’s unknown of this individual had a weapon. Police said there were no other people inside the home, and there was no threat to the public. Police were able to take the individual into custody via the Baker Act.
