The WINK News Weather Authority team is monitoring a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean. This disturbance has a 90% chance of becoming our next tropical depression, and eventually, Tropical Storm Isaias.

There is decent model discrepancy on how strong this system could get, and where it could go. Right now, it’s ingesting a lot of dry, Saharan air and that has temporarily lowered the shower and storm activity associated with it. Latest forecast models have weakened the potential development slightly.

Elsewhere in the tropics, Hanna has become a remnant area of low pressure over Mexico.
