A tree trimmer was electrocuted Thursday afternoon in Port Charlotte. (Credit: WINK News) A tree trimmer was killed in Port Charlotte on Thursday after he came into contact with power lines while in a bucket truck. The scene unfolded shortly before 3 p.m. on McQueeney Avenue and Briarwood Street. A Charlotte County spokesperson said the victim was part of a landscape crew trimming trees. At some point, a tree branch or the man’s saw came into contact with a power line. He died at the scene. Charlotte County deputies are at the scene and power is off in the area.
