A 25-year-old Naples man has died following a motorcycle crash Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

He was riding a motorcycle eastbound in the inside lane of CR-876, Golden Gate Blvd. East, west of Everglades Blvd. North around 10:20 p.m. on July 10, 2020.

A roadway maintenance vehicle with a trailer was stationary in the eastbound, inside lane of CR-876 “performing roadway measurements with its flashing directional arrow on,” FHP says.

The motorcyclist crashed into the back of the trailer, separating the 25-year-old from the motorcycle, sending him into the eastbound, outside lane of the road and the bike in the inside lane.

The maintenance vehicle remained in place.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, died of his injuries. The driver of the maintenance vehicle was unharmed.
