63-year-old woman dies after colliding with a cow in Hendry County on Monday

A 63-year-old woman from Lakeland died in Hendry County on Monday after her vehicle collided with a cow that was in the middle of the road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was eastbound on US-27 approximately 3 miles east of Flaghole road when a cow entered the roadway into the path of the vehicle.

The front of the vehicle collided with the cow causing her to run off the roadway into the center grassy median and overturn.

The vehicle came to a final stop on its roof.

The crash remains under investigation.
