Since the coronavirus pandemic began, many of the Southwest Floridians residing at Solaris Senior Living, like many of us, have not seen their families face to face.

The staff at Solaris wanted to do something special for the residents and their families in this time of social distancing so they held a parade.

Family members of residents were invited to this celebration along with members of the Bikers Club and healthcare workers.

Although some family members couldn’t make it out today due to being at work, dozens of cars drove through the street while senior and family members alike held signs and cheered.

Barabara Pinnell’s mother is a resident at Solaris and she thinks this is parade made such a huge impact on her mom and others.

“To see her light up when we show up. I know she still recognizes us and I just can’t wait for the day that I give her a big hug,” she said.

Solaris staff also set up chairs so the residents could speak to family members through a window.
