A man is in serious condition after he was struck by a vehicle late Tuesday as he was walking on Austin Street south of Woodland Boulevard in Fort Myers. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 55-year-old man was walking southbound along traffic when an unknown vehicle traveling southbound on Austin St. struck the man after completing a right turn from Woodland Blvd. The hit-and-run victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The FHP has not released his identity. At this time the driver and vehicle that struck the man remain unknown.
