Fort Myers Police Department responded to a structure fire that led to the arrest of a woman for arson Monday after the fire was determined to be suspicious.

According to FMPD, Fort Myers police arrested Crystal Beard, 32, after she was found to be the sole occupant of an apartment on the 3100 block of Dora Street in Fort Myers during a suspicious fire.

Police say there was no one else but Beard at the residence during the time of the fire, and occupants of another apartment were safely evacuated without injuries.

Other people living at the apartments will be temporarily housed at other locations since the unit is currently deemed uninhabitable.

Beard faces charges for trespassing and first-degree arson.

Beard was booked into Lee County jail.
