Grab your walking shoes! Some senior dogs need your help.

The National Honor Society at Lehigh Elementary School is hosting a virtual 5K to benefit the Senior Paws Sanctuary. It kicks off May 21 and runs through June 1. The virtual race is a run/walk and you can complete it in small chunks or all at once.

It’s free, but they’re asking for a donation of $15, which will get each participant a commemorative medal. You can also just donate if you don’t want to participate in the virtual 5K.

You can sign up and donate through the website or you can mail a check to the school. If you are choosing to mail a check, please make it out to Lehigh Elementary School. The address is 200 Schoolside Dr., Lehigh Acres, FL 33936.

At the end of the event, the school will present a check to the Senior Paws Sanctuary.
