Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tiphanie Dawn Sager, 27, Friday for an armed home invasion that led to the shooting death of victim in Lehigh Acres in 2015.

According to LCSO, in February 2015, deputies responded to the 4000 block of Centennial Boulevard, where they discovered a victim with a gunshot wound at his home. The victim later died from his injuries.

Detectives eventually learned suspects entered the victim’s home with the intention of robbing him. When confronted by the suspects, the victim was uncooperative and suffered fatal gunshot injuries.

LCSO detectives recently identified Sager, based on witness statements, as the suspect who organized the robbery.

Sager is in custody at Lee County Jail without set bond, and she  faces charges for second-degree murder.

“The detectives that worked this case strived to bring closure to the family of the victim, and I couldn’t be more proud,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in the press release. “No matter how old the case, we will bring those responsible to justice.”

LCSO and the state attorney’s office cold case unit worked together to make an arrest in the case. This investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information about this case can contact Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 239-477-1000.
