Friday is water safety day and with so many of our kids at home, swimming in backyard pools, or enjoying the beach again it’s important they know safe swimming techniques.

On Lindsey’s Facebook page you can find several local resources that are offering swimming lessons or tips for you to teach at home.

Goldfish swim school in Bonita Springs created free lessons that you can do even without a pool.

They teach your child anything from floating, safe tips around the pool, and even strokes.

The owner of the Bonita location says just go to their youtube page and pick what level you want.

“She’s teaching them at home in her living room, her kids are involved and she’s incorporating all the water safety skills that are important for your kids to know,” said Bridget Davis, owner of Goldfish Swim School.

Then on Monday, you can learn water safety exercises during a Facebook live with Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy.

And NCH Safe & Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County which provides free swim lessons typically in Collier is recommending you try this free app, “Stewie the duck learns to swim.”

There’s also a book that talks about water safety, games, and tips for parents.

For more information and to try it with your kids, visit the Goldfish Swim School Youtube page here.
