If you want to get tested for COVID-19 you can do it today for little to no wait in Lee County.

Last week we showed you a video of the drive-thru testing site opened that had cars backed up at the CenturyLink sports complex, and the lines were hours-long.

But on Wednesday that was not the case.

There were few cars in the waiting line Wednesday morning, which was hard to believe if you saw the crowds there when the site first opened the gates. People were waiting for up to three hours.

WINK News spoke with one of the people overseeing this site and she wants everyone to know tests are available and free.

In order to get tested you don’t need symptoms— all you need is a valid ID.

We’re hearing from our governor and from our public officials that testing a lot is so important— so right here and right now is your opportunity to get tested if you so choose.

When this test site first opened it only had a 400 a day test capacity.

There were so many people in line the National Guard increased capacity up to 750 tests a day.

Right now fewer people are coming than there are tests available.
