1 home, 1 vehicle lost in Friendship Ln. fire in Collier County; 100% contained

Florida Forest Service responded to three separate fire scenes in Collier County on Friday.

North Collier Fire Rescue District, Florida Forest Service and Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire in the area of Friendship Lane in Collier County and said it’s 100% contained at 30 acres. The fire district said one home and one vehicle were destroyed by the fire. There are no injuries reported.

According to FFS, crews responded to the Friendship Lane fire near the corner with Angela Road (County Road 849) north of Sanctuary Road, which is north of Immokalee Road, north of the Orangetree community.

A Collier County Sheriff’s Office helicopter helped put water on the fire. FFS also had three bulldozers and one supervisor at the scene.

The fire district said there were at least 15 units responding to the fire, including an air unit.

The fire district previously reported two structures had been destroyed, but confirmed it was only one that was lost and had been abandoned for years.

As of 8 p.m. Friday, the fire district says the scene will continue to be active for the next few hours and asks everyone to avoid the error.

Meanwhile, neighbors who were evacuated from nearby homes out of caution have been allowed to return.
