South Trail Fire & Rescue District and Lehigh Acres Fire Control & Rescue District put out a brush fire in Daniels State Preserve in Gateway in Lee County Thursday.

The scene was off Daniels Parkway.

Firefighters say the main fire they responded to sparked another brush fire about a quarter mile away from the original scene. That was quickly responded to, contained and put out.

There are no reports of injuries or damages due to the fires at this time.

Lee County’s burn ban remains in effect, and fire departments remind everyone to keep all all heat sources away from brush.

The fire is under investigation, and is considered suspicious.
