One dead in Fort Myers mobile home fire

A fire at a Fort Myers mobile home community left one person dead Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Palmetto Palms RV Resort off Summerlin Road shortly after noon when a fire broke out in a mobile home on R Street.

The fire marshal said one person died, and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the death is not suspicious.
