3-year-old dies from injuries in Fort Myers crash, police asking for info

Fort Myers Police Department confirms a 3-year-old girl has died from injuries Monday from a crash on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard that occurred Sunday.

According to the FMPD press release, police are investigating a deadly crash that happened during the afternoon on Veronica Shoemaker Blvd. near Dora Street that led to the death of Irah Sibert of Fort Myers.

Sibert was taken to HealthPark Medical Center, where she died from her injuries in the crash Monday morning.

“The Fort Myers Police Department asks that you please wear your seat belts and properly restrain your children so tragedies like these can be avoided,” FMPD shared in its release.

The press release does not confirm the cause of the crash or name any drivers involved.

FMPD says the crash investigation is ongoing and asks anyone with information to contact the police department. FMPD’s non-emergency phone number is 239-321-7700.
