Collier County man arrested following standoff facing assault, battery charges

A 35-year-old Collier County man was arrested Thursday night following a standoff with deputies at a residence in North Naples, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Rudy Mario Anzualda Perez is charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.

Deputies responded to a disturbance involving Perez at a residence on West Alhambra Circle. According to a report, he had a possible warrant, had run from law enforcement the night before and had been doing drugs.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned Perez had been there since Sunday and was refusing to leave. He had battered a woman inside, including “tying a belt around her neck in an attempt to choke her,” deputies say.

The victim told deputies that Perez had also put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. She was outside of the residence when deputies arrived, with Perez still inside the residence.

Deputies say Perez refused to comply with their commands to exit the residence. After several hours of negotiation, he attempted to flee out the back of the home and was quickly taken into custody.

According to previous reports, Perez has a history of violence, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding law enforcement and possession of a firearm.

While he was being booked into the jail, deputies discovered Perez had an active CCSO warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on a prior trespassing charge involving the victim.
