The Red Sox Foundation is supporting those in need during this difficult time. The foundation is offering the ability to apply for a $250 food aid gift card.

To be eligible for a relief award, you must live in New England or Southwest Florida; and show that you or an immediate family member has an unusual hardship and financial need for assistance from the Fund.

The Red Sox Foundation Emergency Hardship Fund is being seeded with $300,000 by the Foundation, with additional support from Red Sox players and coaches, ownership, and other organizations.

In a letter to their fans, Executive Director of the Red Sox Foundation Bekah Salwasser wrote:

We hope this finds you and your family in good health and spirits. We are living through the unimaginable—a pandemic that will impact every corner of the globe and change our lives forever. But crisis often has a way of bringing us closer. I know that we will persist and persevere through this as one community.

To that end, the Red Sox Foundation has always been committed to our New England and Southwest Florida communities. Now, more than ever, we are stepping up to the plate. On Wednesday, April 15, we launched an Emergency Hardship Fund, which will specifically address an issue we know is impacting millions of people right now: food insecurity.

We encourage anyone that has found themselves in difficult financial circumstances due to the wake of COVID-19 to apply for a $250 grocery store gift card below. We are here to support you through this crisis. Only together will we endure this unprecedented time in our nation’s history.”
